Join us this Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11:05 p.m. on WCCO-TV Channel 4 – for another exciting edition of “Life to the Max” … bringing you stories that motivate and inspire!  Watch the promotional clip for this week’s show.

In 1952, Marvin Schwan loaded 14 gallons of ice cream and dry ice into his delivery truck and set out on a trip – visiting homes north of Marshall, Minn. On that first trip, he sold out of his product. During his first year it wasn’t easy. He had 22 flat tires, but the rest is history. Marshall is home to Schwan’s Food Company.  Learn about the unique partnership between the community and the company. Schwan’s has helped the town grow and has enriched the lives of its residents through unprecedented support of local arts, education and athletics.

In our second story this week, we meet an Andover, Minn., high school student who is turning heads with his display of passion and optimism. Simeon Toronto, a junior at Andover High, was recently selected to represent the school at the American Legion Boys State, the program that teaches students about the structure of city, county and state governments. During the program he ran for governor and won. At the next level – Boys Nation, in Washington, D.C., Simeon ran for president and won again. Hear from school administrators who say that with young leaders like Simeon at the helm, our nation will be in good hands. Remember the name Simeon Toronto – great things are on his horizon.

In the late 1990s, a war between Kosovo and Serbia was in full force. Kosovo villages were devastated, and “ethnic cleansing” took an estimated 11,000 lives. Meet Minnesotans who helped bring relief to villages and the people who suffered in the aftermath of these atrocities. Learn how the Minnesota-based photography company, Lifetouch, got involved with the relief efforts and how this led to mission trip partnerships that have continued through the years. Meet Lifetouch volunteers who returned to Kosovo 13 years later and hear their personal reflection on the trips and the life-changing joy they receive when they “Give Back.”

Tune in Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11:05 p.m. and again Sunday, Dec. 29, at 5:30 a.m. (re-broadcast) on WCCO-TV.  “Life to the Max” is sponsored by Lifetouch and produced by Lifetouch Media Productions.
